Making wine the traditional way...
Making wine the traditional way is a painstaking task. A quick overview is as follows:
The quality of the grape is all-important, and that quality is affected by the weather
during the growing season, how the vines are pruned, soil quality, and the timing of the
harvest.
The harvested grapes are crushed, sometimes by trampling on them with feet, other times
with a press. Red wine is processed with the skins, white wine without the skins. With
rosé wines, the skins are left on only until the wine takes on the desired color.
