Unwashed
A shepherd, a farmer,
A merchant, a laborer.
I am a woman, a man,
A parent, a child.

I am a woman, a man,
A parent, a child.
I am just these.
Who am I,
That news of your birth
Comes to me
Through the glorious singing
Of the host of heaven?
I am no one
In the world.
My voice has no sound
In the world.
My thoughts have no audience
In the world.
And these
Who stand beside me ...
Who are they?
All of us,
