Call To Worship (based on Acts 3:12-13)
One:
You who are gathered, why do you wonder at this, or why do you stare at us, as though by our own power or piety we have done anything?
All:
The God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, the God of our ancestors has glorified his servant Jesus.
Collect
Who is that? Lord of life, is that you? The misshapen stone, beaten and battered, holding up your church from your cornerstone place. That's a lot of weight, Lord. Can I help you, can I carry the cross, can I bear the weight of your precious body, which is visible in your gathered people? All those who the world has rejected are welcome here in this place. Now the church looks whole! Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
Repent! Repent! Jesus forgave us from the cross because we didn't know what we were doing. We know now! Repent. Amen.
Hymns
Holy, Holy, Holy
Sing Glory, Glory
There Is A Balm In Gilead
Third Sunday Of Easter
Second Lesson: 1 John 3:1-7
Theme: Beloved
Call To Worship
The world seeks to know Jesus, but knows us. Let us worship and praise in such a way that all may know Jesus through the manner of our living. Amen.
Collect
It is hard to believe that we are your beloved, and harder to imagine, Lord, what it would be like if we were not. In gratitude we raise our voices in praise. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
Accept, O Lord, our heartfelt praise, and with it our confession of guilt and reliance upon you. Let your will be done, until all of creation, from the heights of the skies to the depths of the seas, lives to your delight. Amen.

Call To Worship (Psalm 4)
(Unison) Answer me when I call, O God of my right! You gave me room when I was in distress. Be gracious to me, and hear my prayer. How long, you people, shall my honor suffer shame? How long will you love vain words, and seek after lies? Selah. But know that the Lord has set apart the faithful for himself; the Lord hears when I call to him. When you are disturbed, do not sin; ponder it on your beds, and be silent. Selah. Offer right sacrifices, and put your trust in the Lord. There are many who say, "O that we might see some good! Let the light of your face shine on us, O Lord!" You have put gladness in my heart more than when their grain and wine abound. I will both lie down and sleep in peace; for you alone, O Lord, make me lie down in safety.
Collect
The peace of the Risen Lord be with all of us. God's people reject the fear mongers, racists, separatists, dividers. God's arms are open wide to embrace us all. We share the selfsame peace of the Risen Lord with all present, with all around the world. Come, Lord Jesus, come soon to set the world right. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession (based on Luke 24:46-49)
One:
Thus it is written, that the Messiah is to suffer and to rise from the dead on the third day,
All:
and that repentance and forgiveness of sins is to be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem.
One:
We are witnesses of these things.
All:
And see, Jesus is sending upon us what he has promised, so that we might be clothed with power from on high! Amen.
