Call To Worship
Women: We know love by this, that Jesus laid down his life for us.
Men: We know love as well through the parents who gave life to us.
Women: Scripture tells us that and we ought to lay down our lives for one another.
Men: And we have seen this in those parents who have lived their lives for others.
Women: The Bible says: let us love, not in word or speech, but in truth and action.
Men: The example is before us, in the lives we honor on this Mother's Day.
Women: There is no perfect parent.
Men: But there is a perfect God.
All: And this is his commandment, that we should believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ and love one another, just as he has commanded us.
Unison Prayer
Lord, we know that all who obey your commandments abide in you, and you abide in us. We seek you first, and finding you, find your love in our brothers and sisters here in this congregation, as well as in the friends and strangers we meet in our daily lives. We seek you first, and seek to find your love in our parents. We seek you first, knowing that all things will be added unto us. Bless us in our gathering, our worshiping, and our departing today. Precious Lord, we pray things in the name of the Risen Lord. Amen.
Morning Prayer (Psalm 23 KJV)
The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
Offering Prayer
We are your people, we are one fellowship, we are the kingdom people. With your power our meager gifts will help to make this kingdom more visible, the fellowship stronger, the people more resolute. Amen.
Children's Benediction
Little children, let us love, not in word or speech, but in truth and action.
