The world's largest shopping mall is in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, not far from the church I currently serve. Besides hundreds of stores and restaurants, the mall has an amusement park, a water park, a miniature golf course, an ice rink, and a marine show with performing dolphins, and even a fleet of submarines! Having something for everyone, it has changed the way of life for an entire city and its hinterland, becoming almost a temple to consumerism. My previous charge was 90 miles farther away. The congregation was small and struggling to survive as an independent parish.

Smoke fills the room as the glory of God fills the room. All eyes are upon Solomon as he lifts his hands toward heaven in prayer. The leaders knew his words would bring a blessing. How lovely, indeed, are the dwelling places of the Lord.
