When we worry about being...

When we worry about being acceptable to God, we need to remember that Christ came because of God's great love and God does not withdraw his love.
Duning WWII, a tanker traveled oven the Atlantic with his girl's picture always near by. When he was stationed to where he was in a tank, he placed her picture in his tank. Whenever he had a moment, he looked at her. When he felt despondent, he looked at her. He wanted to finish fighting the war so that he could return to his sweetheart. One time his tank in a battle was hit and caught on fire. Let me remind you that tanks run on gas -- which explodes -- and shoot shells, which also explode. The tank crew abandoned their tank and ran for safety. Then the man remembered his true love's picture and with great danger to his life he ran back to the tank, dived in, and came up with his girl's picture. No sooner had he cleared the tank the second time when it exploded. So it was a long walk back to their base. When they got back, there was a mail call, and the tanker got a letter from his beloved. It was the familiar "kiss-off" letter thought to begin, "Dear John ..."
The tanker said that if he were not so tired, he would have walked all the way back to the tank to throw her pictune into the fire. As it was, all he had was apathy. That is understandable. However, we could place love, betrayal, and apathy at one point, and then as far as we could go we would find God's love, our betrayal, God's love as we know it on the cross.
