There was once a father...
Illustration
There was once a father who possessed a ring set with a highly-valued opal. It was said that whoever wore this ring became kind and true, feeling universal love. The charmed ring was passed down from father to son, one generation after another. By and by, it came to a father who had three sons whom he loved equally. What was he to do? Which one should receive the ring? He had two identical rings made, so that he could give one to each son. After his death, they discovered that each had a ring, and they squabbled over which one had the original real one.
