Our confirmation class was asked...

Our confirmation class was asked to do four things. 1. Make a list of the things people do to help each other. Their list included tasks like: * save food for the food bank
* save winter coats, hats, and boots for needy children and adults * rake leaves and shovel snow for people who need help
* raise money for the poor
* visit people.
2. They were then asked to put:
* a triangle beside the tasks that nonbelievers did
* a cross beside those tasks that Christians did
* a star beside the tasks which both believers and nonbelievers did. Naturally, all of the items had a star beside them. 3. The class was then asked, "What difference, if any, does being a Christian make in the way you live out your day-to-day activities?" After a lengthy discussion the class decided that being a Christian made a difference in one's motivation for helping. Non-Christians helped others because they were good people. Christians helped because they were giving to God what God had first given them. 4. Finally the class was asked what they could do as Christians that good people wouldn't do. After another lengthy discussion they decided that they could bear witness to the Good News of Jesus Christ through their actions and by what they said.
