Nothing worthwhile in life is...
Illustration
Nothing worthwhile in life is sudden. We wait for birth. We wait for love. We wait for life to reveal its meaning, year by year, experience by experience. Waiting is the law of life. Projects may be rushed, schedules can be accelerated, but life will not be hurried. Yet we say, "Lord, grant me patience, and give it to me now."
To wait for someone is to say that the present does not begin until that person arrives. To wait together with another is to form a community of hope. The church is a community of hope that awaits the coming of Jesus.
