A newspaper reporter was once sent to interview the conductor of a famous symphony orchestra. Near the end of the interview, he asked this wise, experienced man which instrument he considered to be the most difficult to play.
The conductor paused for some moments. And when his answer came, it wasn't the oboe or the bassoon or the French horn or any esoteric instrument.
He replied, “In my opinion, the most difficult instrument to play is the second fiddle. I can get any number of first violinists. But to find one who can play second fiddle with enthusiasm and dedication — that's hard. And as you know, if we have no second fiddle, we have no harmony.”
As Isaiah pictured the promise of the Lord, “I dwell in the high and holy place, and also with him who is of a contrite and humble spirit.”
