Of the many interesting facts...

Of the many interesting facts of Naaman's story, surely not to be overlooked is the place of the Israelite woman who had been carried off after being captured in a raid on Israel. How she might have wished her captors nothing but misery. Instead she provided the information to help Naaman. Shakespeare wrote, "How far that little candle throws its beams! So shines a good deed in a naughty world (Merchant of Venice)."
Naaman was impressed by big things. He brought the equivalent of about $200,000. Some are only impressed by huge churches, large choirs, etc.
Naaman resented being told to do what he considered an insignificant thing: wash seven times in the Jordan. Many Americans respond when they see the River Jordan, "Why that's nothing compared to the Mississippi."
So many get lost in saying, "I wish I could get away to be a missionary in Africa." Perhaps God is calling them to stay at home and care for their own children or join Big Brothers or Big Sisters.
In the tenseness of the time after the attempted Russian coup, some Christians were handing out Bibles. Was that insignificant? When they ran out of pocket-sized New Testaments, they offered the larger children's Bible. That was so large as to be seen. However, one soldier emptied his ammunition and went to the barricade with a Bible instead of bullets. He put the Bible in the pocket designed for bullets.
