It is fairly well known...
It is fairly well known that the Nazis practiced eugenics. In order to achieve what they considered to be a master race, the Nazis sterilized 350,000 mentally ill people and 30,000 gypsies. In addition, by 1945, the Nazis had put to death 70,000 psychiatric patients, 750,000 gypsies, and 6,000,000 Jews. But many other countries around the world have experimented with eugenics by requiring people with certain undesirable characteristics to be sterilized. And in the first half of this century eugenic laws were passed in Canada, France, Italy, Mexico, Norway, and several other countries.
