If you slide an empty floppy disc into your home computer and call up its information to the screen, you come up empty. You will get the familiar glow the screen produces - and, depending on the technology of the unit you are using, you may get some coding, nonsense information. But it will be "empty" until you - or someone else - "loads in" the program.
