The focus of the passage is bearing fruit. Fruit farming is important in many areas of the world. Most people have heard of Georgia's famous peaches. The peach was first brought to North America by Spanish explorers. Franciscan friars introduced peaches, native to China, to the coastal islands of St. Simons and Cumberland before 1775. Currently Georgia ranks third among U.S. states in peach production. Successful peach farming depends on many variables. Typically from 25 to 33 percent of trees have not yet matured enough to yet bear fruit.
