A college-age fellow was minding his own business, studying hard to get into medical school, when he began to sense a call to the mission field. At first he ignored it, but as it grew stronger within him it was as if he felt compelled to look into it. A friend of a friend turned out to be a missionary, and was happy to share all the exciting as well as scary stories with the young man. One day the fellow inaudibly answered the call, saying "yes" under his breath. He made an appointment with his faculty advisor to adjust his course of study more toward being a general practitioner than the specialist he had planned to be, as the former would be more helpful in a foreign land. As the story tumbled out of him, he finally sat still and waited for what he thought would be a scolding from the professor. "Ah," the professor said, "you have found your burning bush." -- Schmitz
