The church organist and minister...

The church organist and minister were having a cup of coffee in the church staff lounge. The organist, a fine classical musician, was bemoaning the seasonal music. "I shall welcome the end of Lent," he commented. "The service music is lugubrious."
The minister, not wanting to appear ignorant, fully agreed. Only later did he pull the dictionary from the shelf to discover: "lugubrious - adj. mournful, dismal."
Indeed, we can grow weary of meditating on the themes of Lent. Fortunately, the Old Latin Missal refers to this as Dominica Refectionis --refreshment Sunday. This is the week to take a break from lugubrious preaching and music for the purpose of singing a joyous song and hearing a word of resurrection hope.
This passage from Isaiah illustrates a joyous song. Be certain to sing a happy song and offer the folks a work of hope.
