Cathy had pretty much given...

Cathy had pretty much given up on the idea that she would meet "Mr. Right" and live
happily ever after. Her first marriage ended badly, which left her feeling disillusioned.
She remembered her mother begging her not to marry her high school boyfriend, but
Cathy thought she knew better. It did not take her too long after they were married for
Cathy to realize the mistake she had made. Her husband soon physically and emotionally
abused her. It was a bad situation that would take much strength to overcome.
Friends at work had arranged blind dates for her, but their good intentions never seemed to get her anywhere. She tried dating services and again nothing came from it. It was one disappointment after another. Just when she was ready to give up, a friend told her about a single-again group at her church. Reluctantly, Cathy attended.
Then her group invited another church's group to attend a local dinner theater. It was then that she met Bob. Bob's wife had died several years before. Like Cathy, Bob thought he would never again find anyone to share his life. He, too, had tried all the usual channels, but nothing.
They fell in love. Their friends and coworkers saw the change in both of them. They were so happy together. They enjoyed being together and shared similar interests. The joy that they shared became evident to everyone and eventually they were married.
It was a second chance for happiness for Ruth. Her husband died, and out of loyalty she accompanied her mother-in-law back to her hometown where she would find love.
