In 1990, Jeremy Irons won an Oscar for his portrayal of Claus von Bulow in the film,
Reversal of Fortune. von Bulow was accused and initially convicted of the
attempted murder of his millionaire heiress wife, Sunny. His conviction eventually was
overturned with Alan Dershowitz's help. As the movie title suggests, von Bulow
experienced several reversals of fortune. But his reversals were nowhere near as dramatic
as those of Haman, who went from the catbird seat of the king's favored adviser to the
gallows he himself had prepared for Mordecai.
