Lessons to learn
Children's Activity
Object:
SHARING THIS WEEK'S GOSPEL THEME
AT SUNDAY SCHOOL AND AT HOME
Materials:
Paper
Pencils, pens, crayons
Directions:
1. Have children sit in circle around table. Give each child a piece of paper and drawing utensil.
2. The purpose of this activity is to work together to create a drawing. At the end of the lesson, remind children that we might not agree with other peoples' vision, but everyone's contributions are equally valuable.
3. Have children take turns naming animal parts. For example, the first child chooses "the body of a ___." All children draw that on their paper; then pass their paper to the left. The next child selects "the head of a ___." Children add the correct head to the body on their paper and pass it to the left again. Repeat until animal is complete. Prompt children with suggestions of parts: legs, arms, wings, horns, eyes, and ears. Encourage creativity!
4. Talk about the completed pictures. Are they better or worse than they would have been if only one child had drawn each?
