Redeemer God, sometimes I long for mountaintop experiences, because an emotional high feels so good. And I hate dark, lowering clouds, because then I feel bad. Redeemer God, remind me that life can't be lived on a "high" all the time. Teach me patience under the clouds so that I may learn to listen for your still, small voice, and show me that your guidance may not be overt but is often gentle and subtle. And redeemer God, help me to seek for the benefit of of your guidance throughout the whole of my life, rather than just at times of spiritual highs or cloud-like lows.
