Of the many obvious observations that might be made about the life and ministry of Jesus is that the Master was a man of prayer. Over and over again, the Bible illustrates this point. When our Lord became overwhelmed by busyness, he took time away from the stress of his ministry to pray. Jesus' disciples often found him in prayer. They were so impressed by his prayer life that they asked him, "Lord, teach us to pray," and he responded with what we commonly call the Lord's Prayer (Luke 11:1). One of Jesus' longest prayers was for the unity of his followers (John 17).
