Tormenting Questions In A Bizarre World
More than I usually did with this part of the course, I was elaborating upon the concept of time and how culture affected our views of time. Then it occurred to me that there was an unusual kind of quietness in the classroom; suddenly it dawned upon me that these men were quite self-conscious about the concept of time. The members of this class were a group of prisoners at the Federal Penitentiary at Lewisburg, Pennsylvania! They were serving "time" and in this subculture, this subject had particular significance for them.
