Third Sunday Of Advent
Prayer
Daniel J. Weitner
And Other Reflections On Christmas
Object:
Meditation
Strong name of gracious love,
Be with us 'til the morrow!
O God, be ours always,
To drive out fear and sorrow!
Prayer
You have given without measure, O God! You have sent your only-begotten Son -- the pure and undefiled Image of your Being, the Light of life, and the Joy of heaven -- to take our nature upon himself. How can this be, gracious Lord? Yes, and how can we say our thanks for the gift that goes beyond measure?
Grant that what we do in this season may be true worship, honest prayer, and Godly praise. May we always remember that we honor you with our lives, where mere words utterly fail.
Renew us this day, as in all days, by your Holy Spirit.
This we ask through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
