Thanksgiving Day
Prayer
Pastoral Prayers For All Seasons
Lord, the world around us is brimful of good things -- indeed the harvest has been plentiful. We give you thanks.
As we enter into the celebration of Thanksgiving weekend, mindful of all that you have given, we are conscious of the inadequacy of our words to praise you. How can our "thank you's" measure up to the greatness of your gifts?
Yet to say nothing, because of our inadequacy, would be cowardly. To mouth the words of others, because they seem more elevated and eloquent, only robs us of being in touch with you and leaves us cut off from our own voice.
