O God, our Lord, you whose strength is unending, be with us when we falter in our faith.
As a little child, who has been instructed to stay clean, but has fallen and dirtied his hands and now comes running in tears to his parent, so we who know the better way have fallen. Unable to cleanse ourselves, we come imploring you to wash us so that we may become as white as snow.
