Pastoral Prayers For All Seasons
It isn't easy, Good Shepherd, to see ourselves as we truly are. When we are at fault, we much prefer painting an innocent and blameless picture of ourselves, while attributing the ugliness of our lives to others. We defend and explain, defend and explain again, when we are identified as the one who failed. Then we attack and explain, attack and explain again that it is the behavior of others that is at fault.
