The Sabbath had ended. The sun shone brightly. Bursts of color
highlighted the Jerusalem horizon, streaks of purples, yellows,
blasts of orange splashed against the background of the bright,
blue sky. These brilliant, natural colors, the handiwork of God,
would have put our synthetic world to shame. But the three women,
who hurried along the path to the tomb, did not look up. They
missed the painting God was creating because they were wrapped in
shrouds of grief.
Engulfed in pain and sorrow, these women saw their purpose in
