Purpose Statement: One of the responsibilities of the Christian is to love the "unlovables."
Jesus says this several ways, but one passage is particularly pointed. Luke 14:7-24 tells us not to be proud. When invited to a dinner, do not sit in the best seats as if you thought you were important, but take the humble seats. However, the more relevant parts of this teaching are verses 12-13 and 21-23 where we are instructed to invite the poor, the disadvantaged, and those who are usually left out, rather than our friends and the rich.
