Our present day doesn't have sole possession of the con artist ("con" standing for "confidence"). The con artist has been around for a long time.
What other names can we give to a con? How about deceiver, swindler, sharpie, shark, phony, and charlatan? How about hypocrite? And let's hazard that all of them speak a line smoother than butter.
In Psalm 55, David is finding that the tongue is as deadly as a drawn sword in battle.
