Many of us come before God in prayer like we go through the
supermarket with our shopping carts. Sometimes we carefully
prepare a shopping list, and we pull only those items off the
shelf to take to the checkout stand. Other times we impulse shop,
and we take things off the shelf that attract the eye at the
moment. We come before the Lord with our filled baskets, wanting
him to accept our items, whether selected carefully or upon
impulse. It's best for us to reverse the process and to approach
