A picture of a radiator, if possible
When you have been out in the snow building a snowman and you come inside with wet mittens and a red nose and frozen toes, what is the first thing you want to do? (Children respond.) Get warm! Of course. You want to get rid of that cold feeling and warm up. Sometimes, when I come in after being out in the cold, I like to stand in front of the radiator and warm my hands and feet. The heat rolls over me and before I know it, the cold has been chased away.
Have any of you ever seen a radiator? I have radiators in my house. They are special kinds of heaters connected to the wall with water running through them. The water inside gets hot and heats up the outside of the radiator. The hot radiator spreads its warmth over the whole room so things feel toasty and comfortable.
Christian people are like radiators. Inside we are filled with a special warmth and a special love because of Jesus. Because we love the Lord, we can't help but let some of the love and warmth come out. When we meet people who don't know about Jesus and how much he loves them, we should be like a radiator spreading the warmth.
There are so many people around us who are lonely and hurting and cold, and we could make a big difference in their lives if we would share the warmth we have inside. If we let our warmth and our love come through, we can chase away the cold and the chill that others feel.
Radiators heat up and spread the warmth around the room so everyone can enjoy it. We can be like radiators if we will let the warmth and the love of Jesus come through us so that others can feel it.
Be like a radiator this week, sharing the warmth inside you with others who need it. God bless you.
