JESUS
JOHN: It was wonderful -- the demons were subject to us!
MATTHEW: John, I knew you'd like that part. What amazed me was the fact that we were able to heal diseases just like the Master.
ANDREW: The only message we needed was that the Kingdom of God is here now. Matthew, you turned out to be a good preacher.
MATTHEW: Thanks, but like Andrew says, the message was pretty plain. God's Kingdom is certainly here. The lame walk, the blind see, and people are raised from the dead.
JOHN: Jesus is sending us out again. Did you hear?
ANDREW: I'm ready. I loved it.
MATTHEW: When?
JOHN: I don't know for sure; He'll tell us. Here comes Jesus now; let's ask Him. (JESUS ENTERS) Jesus, when are we going out on another of those healing missions?
JESUS: It won't be easy.
JOHN: It wasn't easy before, but I loved it. (THE OTHERS CHIME IN LIKEWISE)
JESUS: Good. I'm sending out many more this time.
ANDREW: How many, Master?
JESUS: I'm going to appoint seventy this time.
MATTHEW: Do we still go out with a buddy?
JESUS: You liked that, didn't you? Yes, that will still be the same. But, remember how some people didn't receive me -- well, some people will treat you pretty rough. Don't make a big deal about it. Just shake it off and go on about your business. Some people will say they want to join with you but they won't want to give up their family or their jobs or they'll have some other excuse. Just remember, it won't be easy. It's dangerous to do what you're going to do. Don't spend a lot of time socializing -- get on with the message of the Kingdom. And live simply. That way you can't get caught up in taking money or favors from those you help. Those who listen to you listen to me, and those who reject you are really rejecting me and ultimately God. Are you still willing to go?
ALL: (AD LIBS) Yes, we are willing. Let's go.
JESUS: Yes, but we need more. The harvest is plentiful but the laborers are few. I ask God to send out more laborers into the fields. (LOOKING INTO THE AUDIENCE) Who will stand and be counted to go out for the Lord of the harvest as a laborer into the fields? (WAIT FOR SOME AUDIENCE MEMBERS TO STAND. IF ENOUGH STAND, JESUS SAYS) And behold, I was watching Satan fall from heaven like lightning.
