A Sermon Preached on the Fortieth Anniversary of Ordination
Forty years ago this month I was ordained a pastor in the Lutheran Church. Along with twelve other candidates I was ordained on the night of May 14, 1952, in St. John's Lutheran Church in Joliet, Illinois. Through these years, I have been privileged to serve in five great congregations including Elim Lutheran Church here in Robbinsdale, Minnesota. As the Holy Spirit has guided me, I have not served anywhere I ever expected to be.
