A Journey Through the Psalms: Reflections for Worried Hearts and Troubled Times
Preaching the Psalms Cycles A, B, C
What Sunday school child cannot recite this psalm? It is an iconic piece of sacred literature that spreads far beyond the doors of church or synagogue. It is read at funerals of atheists and recited in rote rhythms at many a public event. Like cliches, however, the psalm has become so widely known for a reason.
These are powerful words of comfort that echo almost universally as they are read. Who can resist a God who leads the faithful to still waters, who restores the soul and accompanies us through the darkest valley?
