Object:
Theme: Bring Your Burdens To The Lord
Call To Worship
Hear the invitation of Jesus as we bring to this service our needs and our burdens: "Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls."
Invocation
Our Father in heaven, whose mercies are new every morning, we ask for a special measure of grace for this day. We ask that burdens may be lifted, that bodies may be healed, that the lonely may find companionship, that seekers may find truth, that achievers may find satisfaction, and that the anxious may find peace; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Confession
Forgive our foolish ways, Almighty God, for we stumble and fall, time and again, as we seek to carry the burdens of life under our own power. We are weighed down with sorrow and guilt, distraught by the many demands placed upon us, and we never cease to worry. Open our hearts that we may hear you call and respond by bringing our burdens to you in faith and trust. Amen.
Offertory Prayer
We give, Lord, because we believe. We believe in the power of the Word. We believe in the power of prayer. We believe in the power of sacrificial gifts. And so we present these offerings that others, too, may believe. Amen.
Hymns
"Stand By Me"
"Precious Lord, Take My Hand"
"Leave It There"
