Worship
Lectionary Worship Aids
Series V, Cycle A
First Lesson: Genesis 22:1-14
Theme: The Right Call
Call To Worship
Leader: Why have you come to church today?
People: We are here because we have heard the right call.
Leader: Come, listen, and observe. Be attentive to the word of God.
People: Praise be to God.
Collect
If we are going to believe, O God, then we need to act on that belief. We are here to connect faith and belief with responsibility. We are here to look again at our gifts and talents and to offer them to you in service, for we are yours, O God. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
Dare we say to you, O God of great plans, "Here I am"? These words might get us into great trouble. These words might turn our lives completely around. These words might mark the adventure of a new beginning. If we choose to dare, help us to be ready. In the name of Christ. Amen.

Call To Worship
The free gift of life means that in our low moments we no longer need to dwell on fear. God's grace brings peace to our hearts so we can live fully now. Do these words sound like a dream, too good to be true? They are words from God. Praise be to God.
Collect
We present ourselves to you, O God, as those you have brought from death to life. From the depths of our hearts, we become increasingly obedient to the forms of teaching to which you entrust us. In the name of Christ. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
We know, Gracious God, that the force of sin still exists in the world. We rejoice that, as the result of your grace, sin need not have the upper hand. Help us to make the right choices and to live in ways that reflect allegiance to your goodness, O God. Amen.
