When the Israelites wandered for years
in the wilderness, haunted by fears,
knowing not where at last they would go,
They knew not how to get there. And so
they just followed the way they were led
by the fire and the cloud. And were fed
by the hand all unseen from above.
That’s how they learned of God and his love.

When the multitudes followed the Lord
O’er the lake to be taught by his word,
they grew hungry and then they were fed
with some fish and a few loaves of bread.
