Another Look At The Ten Commandments
The Fifth Commandment speaks against murder. Jesus' interpretation of this Commandment has to do with anger. When looking at the Old Testament passage, we might exclaim, "Me, a murderer? Don't be silly. I'm against taking the life of another person. People who murder others should be locked up and the key thrown away, or they should face capital punishment for their dastardly deeds." When we look at Jesus' words in the Sermon on the Mount, we can confess, "Me, a murderer! God forgive me for my sins."
