Prayers About Suffering, Dying, And Grief (1)
Prayer
Gentle Words In A Raging Storm
Prayers for all occasions
O Saving Lord, you invited us to your table
and we came gladly, quickly, eagerly.
We ate of your bread and it was good.
But now you call us to the cross
and we halt along the path, stand frozen along the way.
We fall to our knees,
great drops of sweat bead on our foreheads as fear
absorbs our faith.
Our bodies tremble in anguish.
O Lord, we gave you our minds.
We offered you our disciplined devotion.
We loved you with our whole heart.
Must you have our bodies as well?
Can we hold on to nothing?
and we came gladly, quickly, eagerly.
