Praise To The Lord
Worship
Lectionary Hymns for Cycle B
New Hymns for the Church Year Calendar with Old Familiar Tunes
1. Praise to the Lord, my soul delights in praising
The one who keeps me ever in his care.
So shall my voice of praise ever be raising
Glad songs, in thanks, for showing how to share.
O Lord, my God, above all earthly powers,
You rule in love and bless with every grace.
Praise to the Lord, whose love fills all my hours;
My praise I give ’til I behold your face.
2. Praise to the Lord, who made the earth and heaven;
In justice rules, from heaven’s mercy seat.
God’s love is known in all things, like a leaven.
God holds us up, his strong arms underneath.
Happy are they who live within God’s keeping;
Who know the joy of care both day and night.
Praise to the Lord! We live, his will e’er seeking,
And raise our songs to God with all our might.
3. Praise to the Lord, whose love abounds forever:
The hungry feeds, and sets the prisoner free;
Helps orphans, too; the widow’s care, his pleasure;
And what delight! He makes the blind to see.
O God, you reign throughout all generations,
Loving the right, and lifting those bowed down.
Praise to the Lord, the song of all the nations.
Praise to the Lord, bless God who wears the crown.
Proper 26/Pentecost 24/Ordinary Time 31
Based on Psalm 146
May be sung to LONDONDERRY AIR, 11 10.11 10 D
