The name Cadbury in England is as well known there as Hershey is in America, or Nestle in Switzerland. All three are chocolate manufacturers. The Cadbury family has been part of the Society of Friends, Quakers, for many years -- very devout and generous. They have amassed a great fortune.
After World War I a large department store in London wanted to expand, but the Quaker Meetinghouse next door was in their way. They sent a letter to the religious body, offering to buy the property for a good price.
In due season the department store office received this terse reply:
QUAKER MEETINGHOUSE
We were here before you. We will not sell. (Signed) CADBURY
The store had to make other plans. Oh, the power of a name! See Philippians 2:10-11.
