Pastor: Think of it! How sad it would be were we to have no one whom we could thank.
People: No one with enough resources to offer us genuine gifts; no one with enough power to give us help and guidance when we're at the limits of our lives.
Pastor: Think of the implications of living in a world where there is no God to praise, no Creator to whom we can express gratitude, no Power outside ourselves to make us adequate and grant meaning to our lives, and lift us above our own little projects of small consequence.
