Pastor: As the acorns fall from the trees, some will be lost to the streets and the predators. Some will take root amidst the rocks and fail to thrive. Some will find suitable soil and run their roots deep and grow their branches high. No one can know, when the acorn falls, what kind of tree it will produce. But the environment in which it takes root plays a primary role in its healthy development.

People: Acorns sound something like our children. The environment into which the child is born seems to condemn or bless the child with violence and neglect, or love and nurture.
