Pastor: What belongs to you?
People: The part of my house and my car which the bank doesn't own belongs to me, my furniture and my clothes, and the stuff in my junk drawer.
Pastor: As we regularly see, all the things you've mentioned can be lost to flood or fire, tornado or personal economic catastrophe.
People: There's also my body, my good name, and loving relationships.
Pastor: Now we're talking about things that last, though we can't hang onto our bodies for more than a few decades. But here's something that's unshakably ours: Paul asks, "Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?" Then he goes on to answer. Nothing! No power, principality, pressure, privation, or persecution shall ever be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus, our Lord!
Hymn: "Blessed Assurance"
Pastor: As we come to worship, I encourage you to invite the Holy Spirit into your life and ask Him to turn your mind away from all the compulsions and comparisons and fixations that drive you and rob you of graciousness, and open your heart to the blessed presence of Christ Jesus, our Lord.
Medley Of Love And Devotion: (Suggestions)
"Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus"
"Into My Heart"
"Jesus, Name Above All Names"
"Christ For Me"
"Things Are Different Now"
Invocation
