This story is very difficult for me to tell. It happened shortly before my father's death. He had been in the hospital -- dying, we all knew -- after a series of massive heart attacks. There was almost nothing left of his heart and he was barely alive. The doctors had done everything they could for him. It was hard to understand what was keeping him going, and even harder to watch him suffer so terribly.
