Call To Worship
Someone noticed the temple uniform Hannah took up to her growing son Samuel each year. Someone sees when a parent does the little sustaining things for a child in the name of love. Parents will know later what this teaches a child. So be of good courage, you who are a parent, for being a parent is a holy trust.
Collect
We have come to worship God who keeps on hoping. We rejoice in God who encourages us to believe the way of compassion will endure. In the name of Christ. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
Sometimes being a parent is hard, God. Sometimes it seems impossible to do what is best or to say the right thing. Sometimes we have not enough time or not enough energy. Keep us in your special care, O God, those times we threaten to let go of what is most important. In the name of Christ. Amen.

Call To Worship
Leader Possibilities --
People: Would that the best times of a child's present life could last forever.
Leader: Possibilities --
People: Would that we could listen with easy and understanding ears for when a child is ready to
grow.
Leader: Possibilities --
People: Would that we could savor present changes as what we take for granted turns into memories.
Leader: Possibilities --
People: Would that we could treasure possibilities.
Leader: Thank God for possibilities.
Collect
We worship you, Holy Parent, whose wise plan for us includes promise and possibility. We worship you, who also provides for us the capacity to accept change and to adjust to the continual remodeling of our lives. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
We cling to what is familiar, O God. We like the status quo. Give us courage to let go where it is best to let go. Strengthen our inclination to loosen when creative slack supports another's growth. Help us to be present while we stay out of the way. Amen.
