THE WONDER OF WORDS: BOOK 2
ONE-HUNDRED MORE WORDS AND PHRASES SHAPING HOW CHRISTIANS THINK AND LIVE
In the early days of Israel's history, a divine messenger visited the wife of a man named Manoah. The messenger told her she would conceive and give birth to a son. This boy would grow up to be the liberator of his people. He would break the grip of Israel's enemies, the Philistines. Manoah prayed, "Tell us what we are to do with the boy who is to be born." (Judges 13:8) The boy who was born was named Samson. He grew up, lived, loved, warred, and died. Centuries later, the angel of the Lord returned to Israel and told another woman, Mary, she would give birth to another strong man.
