THE WONDER OF WORDS: BOOK 2
ONE-HUNDRED MORE WORDS AND PHRASES SHAPING HOW CHRISTIANS THINK AND LIVE
Palm Sunday is the Sunday before Easter. It is the first day of Holy Week. The services of Palm Sunday honor Jesus' triumphant entry into Jerusalem. According to John's account, "They took branches of palm trees and went out to meet him." (John 12:13) Nearly three million persons thronged the city, in those days before the Passover festival of freedom. Jesus' popularity with the crowds is clear. "Then the Pharisees said to one another, 'You see, there is nothing you can do; look, the whole world is running after him'." (John 12:19 JB)
