ONE-HUNDRED MORE WORDS AND PHRASES SHAPING HOW CHRISTIANS THINK AND LIVE
Researchers for the World Almanac and Book of Facts asked 2,000 American eighth-grade students to name prominent people they admired and wanted to be like. Most frequently mentioned, by the students as their heroes, were celebrities such as Burt Reynolds, Richard Pryor, Steve Martin and the late John Belushi. Who are your heroes? Who is your self-ideal? I believe those whom we choose as heroes are those who have wrestled with problems and coped with them in striking ways. A hero affects us in four ways. First, a hero captures our attention.
