Hearts and Valentines
Children's sermon
GOD IS ALWAYS NEAR
Object Lessons and other Worship Stories for Children
Sometimes a person's heart doesn't work as properly as God had planned so a doctor is needed to help make it work better.
Objects: a valentine and an encyclopedia picture of the heart.
What is this red and white thing I'm holding? Right. A valentine. What special day is tomorrow? Right again. Valentine's Day. This valentine is shaped like something inside of you. What is it called? Right. A heart.
Here's a picture of a heart like we have inside our bodies. Here's another picture that shows us where we can find our hearts. Where is your heart? (Let them point to their hearts.)
Usually our hearts keep beating just the way God planned, but sometimes a person's heart doesn't work quite right. Then a doctor has to look at the heart and see what it needs, so the heart can do its job.
The heart has very important work to do. When our hearts are working well, we can work and play and enjoy ourselves. I hope you enjoy yourself tomorrow on Valentine's Day.
